Guilford Creek Week takes place in the spring and offers many fun, often free, educational, hands on and recreational opportunities that allow all the residents of Guilford County to learn about the importance of our waterways. It is dedicated to helping raise awareness about the vital role that our local waters play in our everyday lives and how the health of that water can have a direct impact on our community.
Guilford Creek Week is an initiative celebrating the importance, impact and influence of the creeks and waterways of Guilford County and all the municipalities within.
Guilford Creek Week is a collaborative effort between High Point, Greensboro, Guilford County and many other local businesses, government entities and non-profits working together to emphasize the importance and benefits of clean and healthy local waters. Beginning on March 28 with a Kickoff Party at Gibson Park and ending on April 4, it will be a week of fun, educational and often free events, classes and activities and is sure to have something for everyone. The calendar of events and more information can be found online at http://www.guilfordcreekweek.org or on Facebook @GuilfordCreekWeek. Come on out and support the third year of Guilford Creek Week and “get to know your Guilford H2O.”
For the week we invite everyone to come out to the many opportunities we offer. In the past we have had things like:
Creek cleanups helping remove trash from our local waterways
A Kick Off Party featuring live animals, education and even a creek crawl
Guided Hikes all over the county
Water themed storytimes and library activities
Water themed painting, crafts and art classes
